ALL SHIPS ENTERING TAIWANESE PORTS SHALL USE FUEL WITH 0.5% SULPHUR CONTENT FROM 1st OF JANUARY 2019.

All ocean-going ships entering Taiwanese Commercial Ports shall burn fuels, which their sulphur contents do not exceed 0.5% by weight, on or after 1st of January 2019. Alternative methods for complying with this regulation are allowed, but with the Flag Administration Approval.

 

Rewards will be provided to ships complying with the above regulation, by Taiwan International Ports Corporation Ltd. The purpose of the reward is to provide an incentive for ocean-going ships to use fuel oils whose sulphur contents are 0.5% or less while operating within Taiwanese international commercial ports.

40,001 ton or more     40,000

 

Application Process

  1. The ship or its authorized agent shall apply for the reward no later than 24 hours prior entering any Taiwanese International Commercial Port. 

  2. The ship shall burn low sulphur fuel prior entering any Taiwanese International Commercial Port.

  3. After arrival, the ship or its authorized agent shall complete the application by submitting documents as requested by Authorities.
