MARPOL Annex VI

SEEMP Part I & II 
Regulation 22.2 of MARPOL Annex VI specifies that, "On or before 31 December 2018, in the case of a ship of 5,000 gross tonnage and above, the SEEMP shall include a description of the methodology that will be used to collect the data and the processes that will be used to report the data to the ship's Administration." Part II of the SEEMP, contains such methodology and processes.
In detail, SEEMP Part I provides a possible approach for monitoring ship and fleet efficiency performance over time and some options to be considered when seeking to optimize the performance of the ship. Part II provides the methodologies ships of 5,000 gross tonnage and above should use to collect the data required pursuant to regulation 22A of MARPOL Annex VI and the processes that the ship should use to report the data to the ship's Administration or any organization duly authorized by it.

SEEMP Part II shall contain:
  1. Guidance on methodology for collecting data
    • Fuel oil consumption
    • Distance traveled
    • Hours underway

  3. Standardized data reporting format
